Software
The following information concerns the current state of HPC software equipment used at VSB – Technical University of Ostrava.
Translators and software development tools
These comprise software used for creating, tuning, debugging and optimizing programs. They mainly include the following items:
- • C/C++ and Fortran compilers: GNU, Portland Group, Intel, IBM XLC and XLF
- Java compilers: GNU, SUN Microsystems
- Intel Cluster Toolkit tuning tools
- algorithm development: Matlab + Simulink
Other tools are represented by support libraries for the communication of simultaneous operations. These are especially:
- libraries for MPI communication over IP/Ethernet and Infiniband networks: OpenMPI, MVAPICH, MVAPICH-2, Intel MPI
- libraries for PVM communication over IP/Ethernet and Myrinet networks: PVM, PVM-GM
Support libraries for writing own programs:
- analysis and solving of linear equations, systems of linear equations and other linear algebra tasks: LINPACK, LAPACK, Intel MKL, AMD CML
- paralysis in differential equation systems solving: PETSc
Calculation software from independent software vendors
CAD/CAM/CAE, CFD, FEA software
- structural/mechanical calculations: Ansys, Nastran, Patran, Adams, Marc
- fluid dynamics: Fluent
- modelling/design: Pro/E, IDEAS-NX
- interdisciplinary calculations: Comsol Multiphysics
Geology, hydrology, geoinformatics
- geoinformatics: GRASS, ArcGIS
- hydrology: MIKE, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, MODFLOW, FEFLOW
Physical chemistry
- Molpro
Infrastructure support software
- scheduling/resources management: Altair PBSPro
- backup software: HP Dataprotector
- computing node management: HP SIM
- monitoring of computing node availability and performance: Ganglia, Nagios
