Information meeting – Notice for parties concerned with the Supercomputing Centre IT4Innovations project
Due to delays in the process of IT4Innovations Centre of Excellence project parameters’ specification with the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic, and the forthcoming holiday period, the planned information meeting, whose aim was to introduce to all interested parties the project of Supercomputing Centre IT4Innovations, was postponed until September/October 2010. Projects of VSB-Technical University of Ostrava to obtain over 3 billion CZK of R&D support
Research and development of VSB-Technical University of Ostrava will gain a significant financial support from the Operational Programme Research and Development for Innovations. At this moment, the university ranks among the most successful universities in the Czech Republic, as six projects out of eight submitted applications will most likely obtain support in volume exceeding 3 billion CZK.

One step closer to funding
IT4Innovations Centre of Excellence advanced to the final stage of assessment of applications submitted to the OP R&DfI. The “major projects” category will now go through the phase of negotiations, and then the project applications will be submitted to the European Commission which will decide about the allocation of funds.

IT4I project advances into international evaluation
The project of IT4Innovations CE has successfully passed the evaluation of application panel, and advances into the next stage – evaluation by international panel of experts.

IT4I project application submitted
The project application of IT4Innovations Centre of Excellence for funding in the framework of the Operational Programme Research and Development for Innovations was submitted for evaluation to MEYS. First results of the evaluation process will be announced probably in February/March 2010.

IT4Innovations supercomputing centre crosses regional borders
Moravian-Silesian Region creates a nation-wide unique partnership – thanks to the IT4Innovations project, comprising of a supercomputing centre and centre of excellence. Besides institutions seated in Ostrava, Northern Moravia, and Silesia, universities and enterprises form the whole Czech Republic are gradually entering the cooperation.
